Welcome to our Pokemon Legends: Arceus Story Walkthrough. If you’re just starting your adventure, make sure you jump back to our Getting Started Guide, which will walk you through the main story beats of the game’s introductory missions.

This section of the guide picks up after the completion of the mission “Scaling Perilous Heights”.

Frenzied Noble Hisuian Avalugg

The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra

Unsurprisingly, when you step out of your quarters in the next morning, there are NPCs waiting for you once again.

This time, it’s Adaman and Irida, come to meet with you together. They’ve been summoned by Kamado and they invite you to join them to see what the news is.

As you might have expected, they’re here to discuss the final Noble, and how to quell its Frenzied state.

Kamado tells you that the Frenzied Noble Hisuian Avalugg, in the Alabaster Icelands, is the next and final Noble you need to deal with.

You’ll automatically head down to get Cyllene’s permission to survey the Alabaster Icelands. If you’re already a Fifth Star Member, she’ll give you an immediate sign-off to go, but if you’re not you will need to head back out to get some more Research Points and earn your promotion!

Alabaster Icelands

Once you have permission, head out to the Village Gate, where you’ll find the Professor and Akari/Rei waiting for you.

Together you all discuss the danger that lies ahead and then Akari/Rei will offer to battle you again.

Defeat their team and they’ll heal up your party.

Time to head out! Exit the Village through the Gate and join the Professor at the Snowfields Camp in the Alabaster Icelands.

When you arrive at camp, the Professor will share some concerns that Avalugg is found in a place quite far away, called Icepeak Arena. Not to worry, you won’t be headed there yet.

Adaman and Irida will show up, letting you know that your first order of business is to meet a man named Gaeric in a place called “Avalugg’s Legacy,” and that is where the next waypoint will be.

If you’ve been using this walkthrough for a while now, you know what I’m about to say next…

Go explore!

You’re in a new area with lots of new Pokemon. Catch and battle your way across the icelands as you familiarise yourself with the stark white area you’ve found yourself in.

As ever, you want to earn enough research points and exp that you don’t end up falling behind and struggling with the challenges ahead.

The objective is quite a distance north from camp, so there is more than enough new land here to explore on the way.

Once you’re satisfied with your efforts, go to the waypoint to meet Gaeric.

Meeting Gaeric

When you arrive at Avalugg’s Legacy, you’ll see that Adaman and Irida are waiting for you with Gaeric.

Gaeric introduces himself, explaining that he is a Warden for the Pearl Clan. He also expresses a similar sentiment to that of Melli, who we had to deal with not too long ago.

He feels that as Avalugg is causing no immediate harm to anyone, he should be allowed to frenzy uninterrupted.

Luckily he is of a slightly more sound mind and Irida is able to talk some sense into him. He insists that you prove your worth by battling him, however. You will need to fight his two Pokemon simultaneously.

Defeat his team to win him over and he’ll approve of your objectives here in the Alabaster Snowlands.

Gaeric explains that in order to quell Avalugg, you will need to bring it some Eternal Ice. Adaman reacts to this by saying you will need a Braviary to get some.

Your next objective, then, is to meet Braviary’s warden; Sabi. Just as Adaman is explaining how you’ll find her, she appears nearby and essentially tells you she’s going to be annoying for a while.

Meeting Sabi

Head around the back of the ice platform she’s standing on and head up the ramp to reach her.

Speak to her and she will introduce herself before saying you will be “fun to play with.” She explains that she’ll allow you to use Braviary, only if you can catch her first.

Given the situation, this seems a bit of a selfish waste of everyone’s time, but I suppose she is a child after all.

She will fly off into the distance, creating a new waypoint on a mountain top. Your next destination.

Naturally, you will need to use Sneasler to climb the mountain and reach her, but feel free to explore a bit on your way. You’ll want to make sure you’re still earning EXP and Research Points even now.

A Wild Braviary Chase

Once you reach Sabi up on the mountain, speak to her and she will leave again, this time making you chase her north to Snowpoint Temple.

There is a lot of ground to cover between here and there, so you should take the time to explore again on your way.

I would advise visiting the Pearl Settlement in the northeast corner before scaling the cliffs up to Snowpoint Temple because when you reach the Pearl Settlement it will become a Fast Travel Point.

When you reach the waypoint at Snowpoint Temple, Sabi will open the doors for you and then head inside, hinting that she wants you to follow her.

How to Solve Snowpoint Temple

When you enter the temple, you’ll need to solve some simple puzzles to proceed through three doorways.

You need to try to reach the temple’s top floor, where Sabi is waiting for you.

The first floor is not part of the puzzle, you can just head up the stairs at the back.

On the second floor, there’s a doorway with three panels on it. The panels have symbols on them which correspond to the Regi Statues on this floor. You need to push the panels in the right order.

Each Regi statue is looking at the next one in the pattern. So, with the Rock statue being the first one on this floor, it is looking at the Steel one, which is then looking at the Ice one.

Therefore, you should push the panels in this order:

Rock > Steel > Ice.

The door will open, revealing a second room where you will need to do the same thing again.

The pattern for this second room is Ice > Rock > Steel > Rock > Ice.

You will enter into a third room with more statues. The solution in this room is Steel > Ice > Rock > Ice > Steel > Rock.

Enter the pattern correctly and the door will open, revealing a staircase leading up to the next floor.

On the way, there is a Level 70 Alpha Gallade. Watch out for it, it’s very powerful!

Either defeat it, or Dodge and run your way past it and up the next set of stairs.

Sabi will be waiting for you at the end of a long pillar-filled room.

Battle with Sabi

When you speak to her, she’ll ask you if you’ll battle her. If you took on that Alpha Gallade you may be reeling a bit, so take a moment to recover if needed.

You will need to fight all three of her powerful Pokemon at one time.

Magmortar30Ground, Rock, WaterBug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice, Fairy

Defeat her tough trio of Pokemon and you’ll finally win her respect.

Battle with Braviary

Follow her up to the roof of Snowpoint Temple where she’ll officially introduce you to Braviary, who wishes to test your strength with a battle.

PokemonLevelWeak to…Resistant to…

Defeat it and it will allow you to register it as a Ride Pokemon. It will also give you a Sky Plate.

That’s right, we can now fly. Reaching high places has never been easier and you can now travel pretty much anywhere on any map!

Note, however, that for some annoying reason you can’t gain altitude with Braviary. So, you should use it in combination with Sneasler in order to reach more places.

If the temptation strikes to explore and see where you can go, don’t let anyone stop you. You could even revisit other regions of Hisui if you feel like it. The extra exp and Research Points will be a big help moving forward anyway.

When you’ve had your fill and feel ready to continue the story, head back to Avalugg’s Legacy via Braviary and land on top of the large ice formation.

Retrieving the Eternal Ice

Approach the waypoint and interact with the chunk of ice at the center to retrieve the Eternal Ice you need to quell Avalugg.

Just then, you’ll see that Gaeric has managed to climb the formation freehand, though a little too late to be useful.

Though still doubtful, Gaeric respects your efforts and prepares the balm you need for Avalugg. He then requests that you meet him at Icepeak Arena for the final fight.

Now is a very good time to check in with the professor and see how many Research Points you’ve managed to bag with all your fieldwork here in the Icefields. If you have enough points, you should take a quick trip back to Jubilife to get your Sixth Star Promotion from Cyllene.

If you’re not yet ready for promotion, use your new ability to fly and find some new Pokemon to capture. Earn some more points and then go get your promotion when you can.

As a Sixth Star Member, Pokemon up to Level 80 will listen to your commands, and you will receive a very useful crafting recipes for Ultra Balls and Max Potions.

Once you’re rested, resupplied, promoted, and pleased, head over to Icepeak Arena to face off against the final Pokemon Boss.

Icepeak Arena

When you arrive at the waypoint, you’ll find that Volo is talking with Gaeric. They invite you to “gossip” together for a bit and you’ll learn a little more about Avalugg.

Volo expresses some concerns for your safety but Gaeric’s bravado drowns them out as he strides off towards Icepeak Arena, you’d better follow him!

Watch out for the Alpha Machamp as you continue the climb up the hill ahead. At the top, you’ll find Gaeric waiting with Avalugg’s balms. Make sure you’re ready as this will be a tough fight.

Approach Gaeric when you’re prepared.

How to Defeat Frenzied Noble Hisuian Avalugg

The first thing you’ll notice about Avalugg is that it is absolutely enormous, far bigger than any other Noble Pokemon. As such, it doesn’t move much.

It kind of just launches ranged attacks at you while you dodge around on a very small platform.

As usual, you’ll need to use to throw as many balms as possible at Avalugg in an effort to reduce its Frenzy Gauge to 0%.

It will use four different attacks to try and stop you from quelling it.

The first is a barrage of huge snowballs. You simply need to dodge through them to avoid taking damage. Just dodge back and forth on the platform as the different waves of snowballs reach you until he stops.

His second attack involves huge icicles bursting up out of the ground. You’ll see a small radius drawn out on the ground first, and then an icicle will burst up and damage you.

Just keep dodging out of the attack radii as they appear to avoid taking damage.

His third attack is a barrage of icicles. They will form in the air over his head and then he will send them flying at you at high speed.

You will need to be very quick on the dodge to avoid taking damage here, especially as he gives you very little room to breathe between each attack.

His fourth attack is a huge ice beam attack, which you can simply just dodge right through. Dodge from one side of the beam to the other.

If you successfully avoid taking damage from the Ice Beam, Avalugg will become stunned. Throw a Pokemon at him to initiate a Pokemon Battle and try to defeat him.

PokemonLevelWeak to…Resistant to…
Avalugg56Fighting, Ground, Rock, Steel, Water, GrassNormal, Flying, Poison, Ice

Defeat him and he will stay stunned for a while, allowing you to hit him with many balms, which will be twice as effective until he comes around.

When his Frenzy Gauge reaches 50%, his attacks will become a bit more difficult.

His snowball barrage attack will also feature icicles breaking up through the ground, so be careful where you dodge so as to not land in an icicle radius.

His second attack, in which icicles burst from the ground, will now also feature small shards. After the large icicle has broken through the ground, small ice shards will remain for a short while, which will harm you if you accidentally step or dodge onto them.

His Icicle barrage attack will be slightly faster, making it much harder to avoid completely.

And lastly, his ice beam attack will involve him also spawning icicle shards on the platform, reducing the space you have for dodging, but they admittedly don’t cause much trouble.

Keep avoiding his attacks while hitting him with balms at every chance you get until you reduce his Frenzy Gauge to 0%, at which point a cutscene will trigger, showing Avalugg returning to his normal form.

You will receive the Icicle Plate from Avalugg and Irida will arrive to debrief your success with Gaeric, who seems a little down about Avalugg being thwarted by a mere child.

Adaman and Siba will arrive shortly afterwards and Adaman will congratulate you for quelling all fiveFrenzied Nobles. He also poses a question about the space-time rift; will it close now that the Nobles are quelled?

With your final Noble defeated, it’s time to return to Commander Kamado back at Galaxy Team HQ and debrief. Speak to Professor Laventon at camp and he’ll take you home to Jubilife where you can find Kamado on the third floor of HQ.

As usual, it’s off to the Wallflower with you, for a meal with Laventon and Akari/Rei before you turn in for the night, ready for whatever tomorrow brings…

Which apparently is an explosion!
